DAL Deutsche Afrika-Linien GmbH & Co. (DAL) is an old and well-established liner shipping company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The Liner activities of DAL are part of the well-diversified Rantzau group. The group's activities also include operating and owning chemical tankers, dry bulk operations, ship management and investments.

DAL operates liner services between the UK, the North West Continent, the Western Mediterranean and Southern Africa via the Canary Islands and South Africa and between the UK, the North West Continent/Mediterranean and East Africa including the Indian Ocean Islands.

In the trade between Europe and South Africa, DAL is a member of the SAECS Consortium.Additionally, DAL operates a transshipment and relay service DAL Transport GmbH (DAL-T) expanding the scope of DAL's liner shipping activities.

The Indian Ocean Service of DAL Deutsche Afrika-Linien provides regular container liner services between Europe and the Red Sea to/from countries around the Indian Ocean including Australia and New Zealand. With in total 13 modern container vessels DAL serves on a weekly basis Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, France and Italy, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Djibouti, La Reunion and Mauritius, Australia and New Zealand, Indonesia and Malaysia, India and Sri Lanka. Together with our partners the fleet is operated jointly and the capacity shared. DAL provides one vessel with a capacity of 2850 TEUs.

The Indian Ocean Service of DAL offers several countries on basis of transhipment, like Scandinavia, Belgium, Spain, Kenya, Madagascar, Mayotte, Singapore and other countries in South East Asia.
